Houchin Model 690 Ground Power Unit

90, 100, 120 and 140kVA with optional 28V DC output

The 690 is a low noise Ground Power Unit suitable for servicing 400Hz AC and DC electrical systems on all types of aircraft. Powered by a diesel engine, coupled to a ‘state of the art’ Houchin alternator, the unit is mounted on a monocoque chassis with integral cable trays. It is protected by our unique sliding weatherproof canopy and is designed for maximum access and noise attenuation.

CONFIGURATION

TRAILER MOUNTED

Rugged construction in fabricated sheet steel with extensive corrosion protection. Fifth wheel steering, fitted with leaf springs and four pneumatic tyred wheels.

Overrun braking system (drum type) with a parking brake acting on the front wheels. Drawbar fitted with a 76mm towing eye.

The unit is protected by a solid weatherproof canopy fabricated from zinc coated sheet steel, the gull wing doors giving excellent access for servicing and maintenance.

BASE MOUNTED

This unit can be supplied without undergear, and complete with all the necessary mounting equipment for a base mounted installation.

TRUCK MOUNTED

The base mounted version can be supplied without undergear for mounting on to the customer’s choice of vehicle.

Houchin can supply all mounting equipment, and will make all necessary calculations to ensure safe fitting onto the chosen vehicle. Houchin will supply the complete package if required.
