Houchin Aerospace takes its name from the Houchin family who founded the company in 1931, with its original premises in London.
In 1958 the company relocated to a 4200m2 factory in Ashford, Kent, England, which is home to 65 employees.
In 2005 Houchin was acquired by ITW Inc. Following the ITW principle of Product Line Simplification it was decided at this time to concentrate on our core product, 400hz Diesel Driven Ground Power Units.
This has enabled Houchin to offer an industry leading delivery schedule, with every order for the past five years being despatched on schedule.
Maintaining regular contact with customers and aircraft manufactures has ensured Houchin develops a range of products to meet the ever increasing stringent specifications imposed by modern aircraft.
With quality of the electrical supply being such a crucial aspect, Houchin maintains control through the in house design and manufacture of these critical electrical components.
Environmental awareness is also reflected in design, to ensure all our products meet all relevant European and International emission standards.
Houchin Ground Power Units are operating in over 100 countries, with a customer base of Airlines, Handling Companies, Airports and Military organizations.
The company’s quality procedures are accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008.
